How difficult is it taking public transport from the JW Marriott Hong Kong to Disney Hong Kong?

If doable, how much time to get there?

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

Of course doable

1. MTR to central -> walk to HK station -> travel to sunny bay -> change to disney

2. Take e11 outside pacific place -> change after the bridge to r8

Btw on return you can do R8 -> a11 / e11

We just did this on 2 days a week ago (did the 2-day ticket at Disney). You can do the MTR the whole way as the OP suggested, but given the walk from the hotel to Admiralty platform and then, more importantly, the walk from the Central MTR to the Hong Kong MTR (which is pretty long, though all inside), the route we ended up taking was:

-Taxi from hotel to Hong Kong MTR station (20-25HKD)
-MTR from Hong Kong station to Sunny Bay, transferring to Disney train.

The entire trip (including hotel taxi to HK station) is probably 45 minutes.

A few notes:
-After the taxi lets you off at the HK station (which is where the Airport Express check-in counters are), you can get to the proper MTR train (Tung Chung line, I believe) at either the far left or far right end of the station down the escalators.
-Going to Disney, the transfer at Sunny Bay is extremely easy, just across the platform. (On the way home, you have to go up and then down escalators to get to the other platform.)

Timely information, since I just sat down at my computer to plan a trip to Hong Kong including Disney. I'm still debating Ren. versus JW, but leaning towards JW.

Regarding Disney - based on your experience would you recommend one day or two?

If you do a web search, you'll see a lot of mentions about how small the park is compared to the US parks. Totally true. At the same time, we went for the 2-day pass. The extra 100HKD for the 2nd day was worth it in my view. We went on 2 weekdays a couple of weeks ago (Wednesday and the following Monday). I note that you need to do the park within 7 days of the first entry. If possible, of course, I'd recommend weekdays to avoid crowds and we planned it so that we had a "spare" day in case it rained on Monday (i.e., Tues was our backup day).

THe park isn't huge at all. You can walk from one end to the other in 15 minutes. The castle is tiny compared to other parks. At the same time, between crowds/waits and the various rides/shows, it's nice having a second day. On the 2 days we went, lines early (10-11:30) were relatively short and then very late (after 6pm). Certain lines (esp. Toy Storyland, which it turns out opened the week we first went) got pretty long (50-60 minutes). Other rides were very short (e.g., small world, teacup). Also, don't get too caught up in being at the front of the line for the 3 shows (Lion King, Golden Mickey and some Magic thing). The auditoriums are pretty big and can hold a good number of people (more than the length of the crowd, at least on a weekday). And, you can get FastPasses at the Pooh ride, Space Mtn and one other; but not Toy Storyland, which is brand new.

First day we stayed the entire day (3:30 is the parade and 8pm are the fireworks). I was shocked at how easy it was to leave on the MTR after the fireworks. We positioned ourselves relatively close to the exit, but there weren't ridiculous crowds on the MTR and platforms that I feared. It was actually really sane.

BTW, we thought by far the best thing at the park was the Lion King show. The rides themselves in general were just okay and, if it wasn't for the Disney branding, would've been pretty unexciting overall. Another highlight for our kids (5 and 6 yr old daughters) was meeting the various characters; lines ranged from a few minutes to 30 minutes.

Another tip, bring snacks and water. They check bags at entry, but seem to be okay with them. Obviously things cost a great deal more at the park.
