Etihad Airways Etihad Guest - Overnight Layover on Award Ticket
Have an award booked through AA in J class. Arrive into AUH at midnight and depart in the morning around 10:00. I read somewhere that Etihad will provide accommodation for paying passengers in this situation. Does anyone have any experience with awards?

Number 4 (although I have an F award, not paid ticket)
We arrive at 8:15 PM and leave 10:30 in AM - definitely need to stay in a hotel (free or paid on our own)

I was thinking on booking the new park hyatt abu dhabi just in case, but 280$ or 18.000 points for a couple of hours of sleep not sure if worth it.
plan B: is the lounge opened overnight? reading old post I don't see that clearly and no information about opening hours in the etihad website. txs.

I'm not really sure about the overnight accommodation as my transits at AUH have been not more than 3 hours.
The lounges are open overnight. EY has flights departing in the midnight and then the arrivals start. So the lounge is an option.
Also IIRC, there is a transit hotel in AUH. Not sure about the details though.
Since you guys are flying J or F, I'd give Etihad a call and request accommodation.

STPC doesn't normally apply for award tickets. Please be prepared to pay. Hotels in Abu Dhabi aren't that expensive.

Sorry - what is STPC?
I called today and it is confirmed by etihad agent the free hotel accomodation does not apply for award tickets.
only applies for paid first and business class fares.
Thanks for checking. Just haven't had the time to sit on the phone with them. Both times I tried , I gave up after 15 minutes. I think we'll plan on the lounge. It's on our way back home, so we'll try to pull an all-nighter in the lounge and sleep on the plane headed home. Will help adjust to time change.
