This issue seems to be limited to the iPad running iOS 5.
As I browse the forums, clicking on a link to view a forum or thread I am often (roughly 30% of the time) presented with a page that contains a heading and ads, but no FlyerTalk content. A forced refresh causes the page to display correctly, but it's annoying to do that as often as seems to be necessary.
A quick scan of recent threads in this forum didn't turn anything up; is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I'm having the same issue with MAC OS X and Safari. I have to refresh once and sometimes twice to get content to load. This issue started a couple of days ago.

I am using Internet Explorer and have seen this also approx. 30% of the time for 2-3 days now. Even with a page refresh, it sometimes takes 2-3 attempts for the page to display.

Thank you, Paul. For the record, I do not seem to be experiencing this issue in Firefox. I can't speak to IE, since I avoid it like the plague for all but applications that require it.

The same issue using Chrome. When I hit " back" I get a blank page with the FT heading but no content. I have to start over by going back to MyFT page.

I have noticed this too on my iPad, but not nearly 30% of the time.

I am experiencing this in IE, Firefox, and Safari. It seems to have gotten worse in the last 24 hours. I'd estimate 50% or more pages in any browser I use now requires a forced reload.

remove "safari/ipad" from title?
Well, I'm only seeing it on my iPad. Firefox 8 seems to be working normally for me. :D
(j/k. Of course we should change the title.)

I changed the title.
Tech has been apprised of this but they are having difficulty replicating the issue; any tech data you can give about your browser/version, exactly where this is happening, times it is happening, etc. would be helpful.
Thank you!

This has been happening for the last 5-6 days with me. No pattern with the time of day. I have probably been on FT 15 times on several different computers. It happens approx. 30% of the time. Requires a page refresh, sometimes two times to get anything to display on the page.

Happening to me regularly too, probably at least 10% of the time. Google chrome on Win 7. I typically pick "Open in new tab" from the "my flyertalk" page.

I'm experiencing the same issue with Chrome (ver. 15.0.874.121 m) and Windows 7. Hitting the refresh button generally brings up the full page, but sometimes I've had to hit refresh more than once. I have a fiber optic connection and have no problems with pages on any other web site.

I think it's the Holland America ad on the right side of the page that's causing the problem-whenever it happens to me, that ad is there.
Hit refresh, the ad disappears & the content loads.
I seem to recall a similar problem several years ago w/one of their ads, as well.

Ah, that may explain why I'm not experiencing the issue on Firefox, since it's blocking most ads automatically.

I'm experiencing it with firefox and windows 7 starter. Refresh of the page usually loads it.

I've been doing some concerted testing this morning, and the only time this issue exhibits itself is when one of the Holland America ads is present. The rest of the time, no problem (well, other than the "can't remember last post" issue which still occurs sporadically).
My testing today has been exclusively on the iPad, which does not have any ad-blocking capability.

I'll also confirm that it's on pages with the Holland America ads. (I'm using Chrome.)

It can take some time, depending on the ad network that is serving that Holland America ad -- they may decide to fix the creative rather than pull it.
Let's roll with this for another day or two.

still happening. Ironically when I tried to go to MyFlyertalk to post here, as well on this very thread.

I see we now have a new Holland America ad that is popping up, & locking up pages, even more frequently than the old one was.
Not exactly the kind of 'fix' we had in mind...:td:

I am still getting blank pages, with a Holland ad still on the right side of the screen.
ETA: There appear to be two Holland pages now, the (old?) one still on the right side of the page, and a newer one, or at least one I hadn't noticed before, sometimes at the top of the page. I think the problem is still with the one on the right side of the page, too soon to know about the newer one at the top of the page.

Sorry folks -- we blocked the old Holland ad and now the new one's doing the same thing. We'll block it again and have them verify their creatives before we serve them again, but it may take a few days.

I reported earlier today that FT (only) pages were loading very slowly for me, but more recently it seems that about half of the time my FT forum and thead pages only load through the "my flyertalk" icon and then show nothing but white space, with no ads either. It's very frustrating. I'm using firefox on an ipad2 with a wireless connection that seems to work fine for other websites: no extremely slow loading of pages and no empty pages either.
