LAX airport operations are not affected by the power outage. 3 of 4 runways are open. Per LAX the City of El Segundo has taken a power hit.

I was doing a mileage run JFK-LAX-LAS. On both LAX-LAS legs the pilot announced that because of the Santa Ana winds the FAs would remain seated for the duration of the flight. Almost no turbulence and no obvious weather when we landed at 6 pm, but at 7:30, when I was having dinner off-airport but nearby, the whole area went black. Power went back on around 8:10; my 9:20 flight left about 10:30.
Apparently it started at a switching station in Arizona and affected over 3 million people, with San Diego completely out for a while. A friend who lives near LAX said they lost power again during the night but that all seems normal now.

FYI, no problem at all flying out of LAX this morning - Continental through IAH to Liberia CR
