I couldn't find the answer on the website, so maybe someone here knows. Can you use awards points to upgrade to extra leg room seats? Thanks for your help!

Not at the moment. Only cash/credit cards can be used for the extra space seats. As the fee is refundable if you move back to a regular seat or cancel your flight, it is not possible to use any other form of payment.

Another question about point redemption on Jet Blue. I didn't see this in the FAQ
Can I redeem jet blue points to book a flight for my wife? (I will not be on the itinerary)
The booking site will let me get to the last page doing this, but I stopped before hitting submit (to redeem the points) I don't want to find out at the airport that this wasn't valid.

That is perfectly legal. I have done it a couple of times.
