Europe - Brussels Layover -What To Do

Hi All,

I have a 10hr (approx) layover in Brussels on my way to TLV next month and usually I like to go look around in cities where I have long layovers. I was wondering what I shouldn't miss in Brussels during my time there. Also I have read a lot about theives/pickpockets in the train stations, is there another form of public transportation at roughly the same cost to say the Grand Palace area and is the risk of pickpocketing lower outside of the train stations? Thanks in advance.

Go to Fatboys bar in the Place du Luxembourg next to the european parliament. Then head to Delirium Tremens and sample the amazing selection of beers there. Stroll through the Grand Place and head back to the airport.

Don't give crime a second thought. Perhaps if you hang around with the homeless people outside the gare du midi you might have a problem, but in 3 years living there i never had a problem and used the metro daily.

Hey guys, thanks for your help. Unfortunately, due to wx in ORD and an unexpected fuel stop in Vegas, I missed my connection in ORD to BRU, and am therefore unable to visit BRU. Now to go try to get my FUBAR'd itinerary fixed.
