Family pooling. I think it's a something different from most other airlines that i'm aware of and when combined with partner benefits (gold, platinum, and the benefits that go with them) i think it's a great move. May not suit everyone but for my circumstances i think it's great.

I'm with qwertyuiop. Although, can it be broader to say something like flexibility of status credit earn, which would also pick up the rolling status credit year and commencement of new review date when you hit a new level?

The other one to throw into the mix is simply - Priority. For me, this is the number one benefit insofaras it actually works - including priority checkin, priority screening (exc Mel), priority boarding, priority baggage. Compared to the competition, that word really means somthing at VA.

I agree with Brisflyer - the biggest advantage for me to date has been the curious concept of "Priority" .. priority seating, priority check-in, priority luggage, priority security and priority assistance when something goes wrong.

Lounge access is nice, but still nowhere near as seamless as it is with alliance-based airlines.

I agree with serfty. DJ's status matching to elite level on other partners (particularly Hhonors) has been by far the biggest benefit to me. Perhaps that reflects that I don't fly DJ very much.

Thanks Notzac for the reminder...

I routinely get asked whether I want to get on an earlier flight in the lounge without prompting and the one time when things went pear shaped... the Brisbane lounge angels really went out of their way to look after me and fellow elites to ensure we got on a flight to Sydney that night when it was already busy (I think they even managed to move people's luggage onto the new flight).

69 kilos each free baggage is a HUGE benefit for us.

I regularly ship heavy things to and from destination. Several heavy cartons a time.

May mean zero to others, but for me often saves more than the ticket cost in post costs.

these are things which put DJ ahead of so many others, it is ridiculous...(in a VERY positive way)

Adding these to the poll.

Thank you folks!

The additional baggage and Family pooling are the best for me at this point in time.

I must say the service in the call centre is really good also

Whilst Status Matching was great (for the two times offered), it is a one time only benefit.

To me (as I have voted), family pooling will allow me to stay Gold for the foreseeable future and benefits me by having all those points to use ^.

Now if only I could get another couple of children into the mix, as I'm not maximising the number of people in my family pool. At least I don't have to ask the M-i-L to move in so I can get her SC's and points :D ;)
