Sorry if this has been covered before, but does Avis allow renting car with temp license. I changed states and am heading out tomorrow for a week trip to upstate NY. I asked Avis last time around (I knew I was going to be getting my license renewed), and the person said as long as it has a state seal. Well, I moved to TX and they just give you a print out with an initial, I wonder if I am going to be Ok?

What did Avis say when you called to ask the specific question about your temp. TX license?

The AVIS rep said as long as it had a state seal. Well, TX doesn't put one on it. I will take my chances and see how it goes tomorrow. Will post back how it goes. I have been renting with AVIS for sometime now, so they know me, etc and can look me up. Hopefully, they will cut me a favor this time!

+1 - I understand, my question was to ask what Avis said when you called back with the Texas-specific question, that is, no seal on the document. Texas is, after all, a large state and this can't be the first time it has ocurred.

Thank you sir. I was able to check out a car just fine with a temp TX license. I am good now.
