Hilton HHonors - Free Movie Reward

I have certificates good for free movies at select Hiltons and HGI's that expire March 03. When I ordered this reward I was unaware that they were only good at select locations. Has anyone had any luck using these at other hotels - such as Doubletree's or Hampton's???

If not, does anyone need these? I would be happy to send one to you if you are going to be at an appropriate Hilton location. Use the fax back system for document 248 I believe to see which hotel's are acceptable.

I got an HGI rate for "one free movie" that I selected as the cheapest alternative. Really don't care about the film though.

I had thought that it would be handled by the check in staff. Does this mean I should expect a coupon in the mail instead?

I redeemed some points for the movie certificates about a year and a half ago. Like you, I did find that MANY hotels did not honor them. Who knew? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Fortunately I was able to use them up. If I recall correctly, the Embassy Suites in Deerfield, Illinois honored them, as did the Waldorf. The HGI in Windsor/North Hartford CT honored them too. There were a few others, but not many. If you have trouble using them and don't think you will be able to, please e-mail me as I'd be happy to take them off your hands. I've got quite a few stays booked between now and the end of March.

I have not seen a list of DT or Embassy's that take the coupons so I will plan to ask at each of my next stays and see if they will accept them.

Send me an e-mail so I don't lose track of this and if I haven't had any luck by early February I'll mail them off to you.

Doesn't seem worth it to me, unless you constantly stay at one of those few hotels.

I just took a look at the list. WOW, Hilton really cut back on where these coupons can be redeemed. Seems like a useless redemption unless you consitantly stay at the hotels on that shamefully short list. Would it kill them to include more properties who accept these certificates, sheesh!

The list of hotels is pitiful, and when I ordered the coupons a year ago I didn't look at all the details and assumed they would be accepted at all Hilton Family Hotels.

I do still have all five coupons. Do you think they would just accept them back and credit my account with the points? If returned with a letter explaining dissapointment with the limited use maybe the accepting hotels list will be increased in the future. If these were usable systemwide I think they would be a great reward.
