Hilton HHonors - 3 Specific Questions on London Premium Hiltons

I'm trying to set up an award stay in London for June (yes, I know it's a bit late, but I had to change my dates due to my brother's wedding date - they didn't check with me first!). In any case, there seems to be little or no GLON availability, although I may try calling a couple of the hotels directly, so I'm going to drop the points on a GLONP, at either the London Hilton, the Trafalgar, or the Langham.
I've reviewed the numerous threads on London, and have gotten down to three specific questions:
1) Upgrades for Diamond - Many threads refer to a poor track record on upgrading an award stay at the Langham or the Trafalgar, but there's little or nothing on upgrades at the London Hilton. What have people been running into lately on getting upgrades on award stays at any of these three hotels?
2) Breakfast and Lounge access - similarly, how have you found breakfast and lounge access to be handled on award stays?
3) Standard Rooms - if I can't score an upgrade, how are the standard rooms? Most specifically, are king beds standard or at least easy to get?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Give some thought to the Conrad London...Outstanding suite rooms...and if you are Gold or better then full breakfast.
BTW Cabs are a must where ever you go...inlight of this the Conrad is not out of the way, and several local pubs 3 to 5 min walk.

I had a GLONP at the London Hilton in December 2001, as a Diamond. I was upgraded to the concierge floor. The room was smallish and had two twin beds pushed together. I'm guessing it was the same as a standard room just on a higher floor. I had access to the lounge, and it was excellent. Pretty good spread in the morning and great snacks and pastries in the evening.
I disagree about the comment about cabs. In 6 days there as a tourist, I found the buses and the trains very easy to use and never stepped inside a cab.

I recently stayed at the London Conrad - breakfast was wonderful, and the health club is nice. However, that is all the hotel has going for it. People were rude, and the location is far from any of the business or tourist destinations. In addition, our toilet broke over the weekend and they did not have any on-site maintenance people or the ability to call one in (among many other similar issues).

It would be VERY helpful and VERY appreciated if you could post your experiences at these hotels at:

It is most useful to have several points of reference on specific hotels, so please, post your experiences whether these hotels have been described arlready or not!!!
Thank you!

I stayed at the London Hilton this past weekend and posted my thoughts at the thread referenced above. To answer you specifically, though:
1) Upgrades for Diamond - What have people been running into lately on getting upgrades on award stays? When I booked, I was allowed to reserve an Executive level room. Our room had 2 twins (which we wanted) was on the 17th floor, and was lovely. Just renovated, and contemporary decor. Nice bathroom with large tub/shower. All marble. I stay at the Times Sq. Hilton a lot and the bathroom & the decor were similar to that property.
2) Breakfast and Lounge access - similarly, how have you found breakfast and lounge access to be handled on award stays? Bc I was on the Exec. Level, we got all privileges in the lounge - breakfast, tea, evening buffet.
