Hilton HHonors - Will my account go inactive?

View Full Version : Will my account go inactive?

I have not had the opportunity to travel & have a paid stay at a Hilton for 8 months. The travel budget is slashed, so I doubt I'll travel in the next 4 months. So that makes 12 months with no paid stays.

I have had rewards stays at Hiltons, as recently as last month. I also got those 500-point credits for updating my profile in 4Q02.

The HHonors rules have fine print that I can lose my points with no stays in 12 months. Does that apply to my situation? Do I need to sack up in a Hampton Inn to protect my hundreds of thousands of HHonors points?

Mine was inactive for a couple of years. I could not log in as the account had become inactive with about 65,000 points. I called up HHonors Customer Service and had them reactivate my account without a problem. They restored my old points also. I'm now using Hilton and adding points to it via stays and DL miles (1 mile = 2 points). I'm now back to Gold with them.

From what it sounds like, you won't get your account zapped for not doing a paid stay. That seems to be the consensus from a lot of FT'ers who were active, then inactive, then active again.

I don't like the fact that the verbiage is in there: it would have me a bit concerned. Northwest Airlines has the same verbiage and my NW account has been dormant for years. Miles are still there, though.
