LAN LANPASS - qualifying segments (medium- long haul) must be LA operated?

hi,
does anyone know if the flights which are counting towards the fast track elite qualifications (medium or longhaul business class segments) have to be on LA metal? or is a LA flight number sufficient?
i think about buying a cheap business class ticket ex GRU and was wondering whether I can fly on a JJ flight to EZE with a LA flight number. that would save a detour via SCL ;)
thanks in advance

Hi Chris,
The elite-qualification pages at LAN say that segments must be on LAN flights, but not that it has to be on LAN-operated flights. I'm betting that a code-share is good, as it carries a LAN flight number effectively making it a LAN flight itself.

Muchos gracias zpaul.
Acumulando 40.000 kms. con un mínimo de 4 segmentos, de medio o largo alcance, en LAN, en Clase Ejecutiva
i know their wishy washy definition - can anyone confirm that a business class segment on a JJ flight GRU-EZE under LA flight number counts as elite qualifying segment? or an AA operated flight MIA-LIM with LA flight number?

Don't know... but I'd go on the side that unlikely... they say "en Lan" not "por Lan"... yet they do give the Kms... I'll go back and check a codeshare and see if they gave a segment... if they gave a qualifying segment credit even if not long haul, then I'd argue long haul would count for qualifying long haul segment?
Here's the difference, I think...the "fast track" criteria flying medium- and long-haul Premium Business to gain elite status does have to be on a LAN-operated flight, no code shares. For the "regular" qualification for elite status based on segments (40, 60 or 120 segments or whatever it is), code shares apply.
Sorry, it didn't sink in that you were talking about the fast-tracking (which is an option for earning status that I like a lot on LAN!). Good luck!

I checked my account. Of course shows kms and segments for flights on Lan. Only kms not segments for flights on partners. But I seem to have an extra segment credit... it may be a code share but not enough information to give a definitive answer, sorry.
So I guess the question is has anyone received a segment credit for a codeshare?
BTW, recently my long hauls in J have been labelled VUELO HOLDING SEGMENTAL ESPECIAL
