Has anyone experienced flight disruptions when flying/transferring into/out of Cairo (CAI)? If so, please elaborate. TIA.

A friend of mine flew in a few hours ago and I think her flight arrived on time. Also flightstats isn't reporting any major delays:

Did you see any media reports about flight disruptions?
Seems like you are incorrectly equating protests in Tahrir Square and Alexandria with flight delays.
My company has people flying in and out of Egypt over the past week or so with no trouble at all.

This supports what friends who have relatives in CAI say- specifically that any disturbances in Cairo are not having an effect on air traffic thru CAI. Thanks posters for this additional info. Time will tell what happens later this month when I fly thru CAI twice. It reminds me of when I flew into and out of SGN in June 1971. Much adooo about nothing at all.

Yes, thanks to both folks who posted a reply ^ This shows why FT is an important resource.

I left Cairo a week ago (Nov 18) when the new wave of civil unrest started and I flew back to YYZ on BA via LHR and every thing went well and the BA plane left on time from CAI.

+1 to what the others are saying here.

The only difference is that you'll find the airport and duty free shops quite unusually empty (but open).

I flew to and from Cairo several times with KLM. Never had a big problem. Sometimes a 15-30min delay but thats all.

I did my transit thru CAI on the 16th and it was totally without any hassle at all. The staff at CAI were totally helpful.

This experience reminds me to never bother with the CR*P shown on the media. It is (IMHO) as true now as it was when I was in SGN in June 1971.

FT gets accurate info out to denizens who read it's threads. The media just self-flagellates itself while patting itself in the back while stating that it presents "accuracy" - IMHO
