Hi all,

Mods: please, if you feel like this should move, do so.

I'm flying Trieste to YYC.

The question is, since I'm a *A flyer (as I said, not sure about what forum to post in), what the best way is? Including costs is important to me.

TRS-MUC-FRA-YYC
since that's the only flight on *A from TRS.

Otherwise, could go to LJU (LJU-FRA), or to VCE (VCE-FRA) but don't know what the transportation links are like.

Thank you for all your help.

Cheapest would prob. be either getting to AMS and take KL, or take AZ to YYZ and then an internal flight, but for *A you want to stick with LH and see what they give you on their website - it'll be either via MUC and YYZ or MUC and FRA, and around €800+.

OR perhaps consider the short hop to LIN on AZ and then LH from LIN/MXP might be considerably cheaper.

You can't make it with less than 2 stops from TRS. You can go via MUC and ORD, via FCO and YYZ or AMS, via MUC or LIN and LHR.

From VCE or LJU you can get there in 1 stop. You can probably take the rail, but I'm not quite sure how convenient it would be wrt adding 1 leg of flight.

Can't say I tried it.

I went to Trieste many times, but since TRS is a good 45 min away, I've flown in/out of VCE, which is not much further away and has many more options for flights.

To get from Triest to LJU airport practically you need to have a car. There are plenty of connections from LJU using JP, giving you *A miles (but not too cheap). There's also AF from LJU to Paris. Check out Turkish Airlines if they go to Canada, as they fly out LJU in the middle of the day.

To get from Triest to VCE you can take the train, they are pretty frequent. Leave the train at Mestre, take the cab or the ATVO (?) bus from the train station to the airport.
(At least this was the way I used in my student times, I hope it is still the same - correct me if I'm wrong.) From VCE, you have also AF an the likes for intercontinental flying.

From TRS, you have Air Dolomiti to MUC and AZ mainly to FCO.
Does AZ have a direct TRS-LIN?
