We need to visit Tamarindo(3 nights) and then Puntarenas(5 nights), flying into CR at SJO.

Is catching a flight on Nature Air the best way to get to Tamarindo? Would flying back to SJO from Tamarindo and using Puntarenas Doubletree's shuttle from SJO make sense?

I notice the departure for Nature Air is San Jose Pava, is that a different airport?

TIA

Nature Air does not use SJO. It has its own small Tobias Bolaņos airport (SYQ), in the suburb of Pavas, a few km west of downtown.

The other domestic airline, Sansa, does use SJO and it also flies to Tamarindo. That would be an option.

It's "Sansa." :)

In answer to your other question:

Yes. With the new highway to the coast, you can get to Puntarenas in about an hour these days. That's assuming the shuttle service uses the new highway.

Spellcheck. I will remember SANSA.

I was told by the Doubletree Puntarenas that the shuttle will take the faster, better toll road. We are there for a conference so we will be going in groups from SJO by arrival time.

Thanks
