Hey guys!

Im travelling from Sydney to Brazil on December 29th and only have 45 minutes to get on my connecting flight in Santiago. For those of you who have been in Santiago SCL, will I have to take out my luggage, go trough passport control and check in again or is it just a straight walk to the next gate?

Thanks in advance!

You go through transit security (I assume you are flying LAN on both segments) and go right back upstairs - the entire process is usually 10 minutes or less from getting off the plane to being back upstairs in the departures area. The terminal is not too large so you probably have a maximum 10 minutes to the next gate. You can figure an average 15 minutes total for the entire thing.

I have a ticket on hold from Buenos Aires to La Paz Bolivia with a 45 min stopover in Santiago. With LAN and it is showing in their system. The flight from Santiago is called SCL- La Paz though it does stop en route to IQQ Chile although it does not get new flight number there etc. Will I make the connection and as a US citizen will I need to go thru passport control?

No passport control in SCL for international connections, if you book your bags thru correctly, which should be no problem.

No reciprocity fee either, if you are USonian, canuck or aussie, in that case.
