Salt Lake City to go skiing myself!
Frontier Airlines EarlyReturns - Where is Frontier taking you this Christmas?View Full Version : Where is Frontier taking you this Christmas? factory81 Nov 19, 11, 10:15 am Salt Lake City to go skiing myself! MikeFromMKE Nov 19, 11, 11:21 am Home to MKE! piotrkol1 Nov 19, 11, 11:46 am I'm thinking about booking MKE-DEN-TUS for early January, but it seems like I always hear about the nightmares of flying through DEN during the winter with all they snow they get. I'm probably gonna go with MKE-LAS-TUS on WN instead. mke9499 Nov 19, 11, 6:03 pm Nowhere, as Frontier cancelled the flights I booked. I will be flying with another carrier this Christmas season. Sounds all too familiar. :D:D knope2001 Nov 19, 11, 7:13 pm NYC...there's no place like Manhattan with Christmas looming. It's an annual tradition for us to spend a few days there before returning home to host ten on 12/24 and twenty on 12/25. God help us if we ever get snowed in. azstar Nov 20, 11, 5:48 am I'm thinking about booking MKE-DEN-TUS for early January, but it seems like I always hear about the nightmares of flying through DEN during the winter with all they snow they get. There are are far fewer DEN disruptions than almost any other hub. And, it's so easy to connect with F9 flights there. You only need 10 minutes, if you're slow. Right, and when it does snow Denver seems pretty good at handling things. It takes a serious amount of snow to really muck things up here. newsmanhoss Nov 20, 11, 8:46 am There are are far fewer DEN disruptions than almost any other hub. Maybe so, but the hail made this year particularly disruptive for F9 at DEN. I have heard that the DEN ops team is particularly skilled at removing large amounts of snow quickly and efficiently. Wisconsin Nov 20, 11, 1:06 pm Are the "bumps" in and out of DEN worse in the winter or about the same year 'round? iansltx Nov 20, 11, 10:36 pm Re: bumps in/out of Denver in the winter, things aren't too bad from what I've seen. Then again, I can count the number of flights I've been on that weren't XXX-DEN or DEN-XXX on two hands. Re: where F9 is taking me for Christmas, I'll be heading out on F9's premiere DEN-RFD leg for a wedding. Beyond that I don't have anything on them for the rest of 2011; flying MDW-HOU-SAT to get back home from said wedding on WN, then PBI-ATL-DEN on DL for a conference. So, five new airports :D Stumblefoot Nov 21, 11, 9:42 am Are the "bumps" in and out of DEN worse in the winter or about the same year 'round? The bumps are noticeably less during the October - June time frame due to the lack of monsoon moisture. Of course, the closer we are to monsoon season, the more bumps you will feel, i.e. June and October and typically much bumpier than January and February, although not nearly as bumpy as July. JeffCO Nov 21, 11, 11:29 am Frontier took me to Southwest, unfortunately, thanks to fares that were hundreds of dollars higher for similar dates and times. I just hit Summit, so I didn't need the miles for that, but I guess I'll be waiting till January to get that free drink. CAL PHL FLYER Nov 24, 11, 12:30 pm Nowhere..Im flying UNITED :) CPRich Nov 27, 11, 11:02 pm First time on Frontier (iirc) - CAK-ABQ on my way to skiing in Taos. |
