Hong Kong and Macau - Place to buy photo gear

Not looking for those infamous HK deals.

Most I would spend is maybe for a prime lens, Nikon DX.

Are they available with international warranties for products purchased in HK?

Would department stores sell mostly at SRP? I recall passing by a bunch of small camera stores around TST with all the wares stuffed in the front windows. Do they sell authorized gear or some kind of gray-market goods?

Is there a particular photo superstore, maybe something along the lines of of Adorama or B&H?

There are a number of specialist camera shops on Stanley Street in Central.

Alternately try the 7th /8th floors in Times Square. Most of the electronics stores have a wide selection of cameras and accessories

I would check with Nikon in US regarding warranty for equipment bought outside the US before parting with your hard earn money.

Walked by Stanley Street the other day, and those long-time photo stores there look fairly tired and sad. And prices are only okay.

I ended up buying my stuff from Cam2 - one of the larger photo-specific chains these days. But I found out that I could get a better price on their "upstairs" flagship store on 9th Floor, 51 Sai Yeung Choi St in Mongkok, compared to their "downstair" stores in the same building.

These larger chains or reputable independent stores (like those on Stanley St) only sell officially-imported gear through the manufacturer's HK distributor, with full HK warranty by the manufacturer. But you should check with Nikon USA to see if there's any issue with warranty work in the US.
