www.topcashback.co.uk, one of the big cash back sites in the united kingdom, has launched in the u.s. today. if it's true what's posted on their website, they have some amazing deals including:

- 50% cash back for hotel bookings via hotelscombined.com
(too good to be true, though)
- $ 8.00 cash back per night via cheapostay.com
- $ 15.00 cash back for flights via flightnetwork.com

u.s. site is www.topcashback.com

There seem to be plenty of other sites around which give similar (40%) amounts of cashback for hotelscombined. However, all the rest seem to give this 'restriction':
Cash back is earned on search activity - not on the hotel booking.

I don't know what this means but I assume that you get closer to 1 cent per search rather than 50% off your holiday. If you're making a booking and can't get cashback elsewhere then maybe it's worth a go ... otherwise I'd stick to the normal cashback sites.

Incidentally, www.cashback.co.uk looks very similar to www.greasypalm.co.uk. If they're the same company then they are indeed a relatively well known UK cashback site (though I've never seen them on TV and they're not as well regarded as Quidco or topcashback).

I think this is 50% of their earning.

It doesn't say what it's 50% of... if it were truly 50% would be hot....

7% on priceline is HOT! Anyone know if this is legit?

I am NOT going for it. This is fishy and here are some T&Cs :td:

From time to time merchants may increase or decrease the commission paid – in which case the cashback offer illustrated on our site may be incorrect. By default, your applicable transactions will be credited in line with the commission reported to us by the retailer, which may be more or less than the advertised rate.

Not sure I regard this as dodgy, more of a get out - if we don't get paid neither do you.

If you promise a customer a rebate then you better make sure you work this out w/ your merchants PRIOR to that promise. At a site which promises me 7% on priceline where everywhere else the max. is 3% then things just aren't right.

When something seems to be too good to be true .... then it is just too good to be true!

I used their UK site for expedia.co.uk referral deal (remember?) They were ok. Hotelscombined is similar to bookingbuddy deal on us mall this year - suppose to pay per search, not per purchase, but they made a mistake. Get on it while you can and then fight with them :)

Here is it on this site as well:

Cashback is earned on search activity, not on the hotel booking.
Use HotelsCombined to search for accommodation, click through to one of its suppliers and make a reservation (or not, in some instances), and you will be paid 50% of the lead fee HotelsCombined is paid from the supplier. This amount can vary depending on the supplier, and could be a matter of a few cents or as much as several dollars.

The small print always gets ya.

Personally, I have used ebates for rebates, for things like Hotels.com there was 3 or 4% rebate. But recently they have had 13% for Holiday Inn, well for sure Holiday Inn Express, which I kind of like. Stayed there the last two weeks I travelled a couple weeks ago.

It looks like hotels.com is 3.2 rebate, but all Holiday Inn shows as 13%, now they are Priority

I see Candlewood Suites is also at 13%, Crowne Plaza and Staybridge also all showed at 13%.

For hotel bookings I don't think they can get any better. Especially if you get reimbursed/expensed or invoice the hotel costs.

Updated-12/5/11 Those 13% rebates are gone. They seem to be back to 4.5%, still pretty good, but I wish I had booked even more for the 13%.

Has anyone seen a good percentage for flights? I can never find one that is willing to give more than a dollar or two. I am sure it is the airlines fault. Anyway, I think I will post the flight question as a separate thread. Don't want to hijack this thread.

They're big in the UK and I have had no problems with payments being made. They often have things like £100 off home insurance, mobile phone contracts, etc.

I've got about £380 is a little over a year. It can take months to get he cash though but within 1-2 days you can see hat it has tracked.
