Oceania (Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific) - Currency exchanges in Auckland?

Flying to NZ for vacation in 24 hours. Bringing my credit cards with me, but I am sure I should have some cash. Where is a good place around airport or downtown Aucklang that does not rip you off like these airport places?

I have always just withdrawn cash from the ATM at the airport. You will probably incur a fee of up to ~$5 and a foreign exchange fee of up to ~3% (fees depending on your bank), but the rates tend to be good, as they are the wholesale Mastercard/Visa/Amex rates. If you are leaving in 24 hours, do you need the hassle? Make sure you confirm with your bank that you can withdraw cash in NZ and the fees. Much easier and less hassle.

I forgot to mention that Westpac, which has at least two ATM's at AKL, has a fee free arrangement with many banks around the world. You don't mention which country you're from, but if you're from the US, Bank of America will allow free ATM withdrawals from Westpac ATM's. Full list here:
