Hawaii - RENTAL VEHICLE SCHG-$3.00 to $7.50/day?

Did Hawaii just raise the rental surcharge from $3.00 a day to $7.50 a day?

I added a club # to my rental car agreement and I see it jacked up the taxes, big time. I look at car reservations I made a while ago and they are all $3 a day. New reservations, for the same dates in Feb '12, all come out $7.50 a day.

That is a BIG tax increase.

Prior to July 1, 2011 - $3.00.
After June 30, 2011 - $7.50
