OK - I'm new to this. I made Diamond the hard way (just nights/stays). The company set it up ans it was the best hotel in town (very good hotel, actually).
I keep running into things like GLON, TEEN, CNTU, etc. and I have no clue as to what they mean. Can somebody illuminate me on this, and also point out what I can do to get in on sme of these (apparent) promos? Since joining FT, I've got a new hobby/obsession!

GLON and TEEN are awards that are available to HHonors elite members -- Gold and Diamonds (maybe Silvers too but I am unsure on whether Silvers have this option). These are discounted awards, in that it takes fewer points for 6 nights at any of the non-Premium category hotels for the GLON award certificate, and the TEEN is the golf award certificate. CNTU was a promotion whereby for 4 stays you got 50,000 bonus HHonors points, but the CNTU promotion is over now.
The six-night GLON award takes 100,000 points at any non-Premium Hilton brands. The GLONP is 150,000 for 6-nights at the Hilton brands' premium properties. Of course these are subject to capacity controls, which are an issue for non-Diamonds most of the time.
