I am going to be in NEW YORK for the day after Thanksgiving until 28th. We are looking to go to see Wicked (both night shows are sold out). What is the best way to get tickets? I know about broadwaybox.com & applausetickets.com?
Any other way?

You're going to pay through the nose for tickets to one of the most popular sold out shows on one of the most popular tourist weekends of the year. Here's Stubhub's listing of what's available for 11/25:
http://www.stubhub.com/wicked-broadway-tickets/wicked-new-york-11-25-2011-1072804/
Stubhub has decent buyer-friendly policies, although obviously YMMV depending on the reliability of the individual scalper you're dealing with.
Please see this thread, which is linked conveniently from the Sticky at the top of the forum:

You can also show up at the theater box office in the morning and see if they have any returns for that day.

The Actor's Fund (hopefully still) sells the best "house" seats at twice the box office price, with the extra money tax deductible as a donation to this non-profit. The card I have lists their number as 1-800-FUNDTIX, extension 133. Hours are Monday-Friday, 10AM till 4PM, with minimum of two days advance notice needed.
If you find that this info is no longer current, please let me know.

I've also seen some seats for Wicked for sale at a discount at TKTS on the day of the show. That likely won't be the case on days when it is already sold out, of course!

Thanks guys for all the help. I wind up finding some Front Mid Mezz, RowC for about only $30 over face, for Sat. night. Not bad if I say so myself

3rd Party Broker called Ticket Warehouse. Google them, then call them for better pricing.

I know that I am the only person in the whole world who thinks this, but I feel there is one major disadvantage in scoring tickets for Wicked: you then have to watch the show.

Hello, I will be visiting NY in July and have seats for Wicked, Orchestra Row M seats 101 and 102. Can anyone tell me if these are good seats. The strange thing is that for every date I chose, this was the only row in Orchestra that was available so I am wondering if there is something wrong with this row? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

here's the seating chart:

Doesn't look like anything is wrong with those seats. 101 is on the aisle, 102 next to it.

Definitely not alone. I was spending a lot of time in NYC and had time to kill one day, so I applied to the ticket lottery and won. Thought it would never end. The chorus looked bored too.

Those seats are good. The Gershwin Theater is much wider and flatter than it would appear on the provided seating chart. It is one of the newest and most modern Broadway theaters and you have more room and better viewing angles than at most other Broadway houses.
I think what happens is the Orchestra seats in front of you, for the most part, are considered 'premium' seats and go to VIPs or people willing to shell out $300+ per ticket. They may not actually be sold right now (6 mos in advance) but are 'held', so to speak, in the premium pool. Row M may be the first row for regular face value seats (about $130). You are on the aisle.
And I personally love Wicked and have seen it about 10x...might I suggest familiarizing yourself with the music before you see it. Have a great time!
