Hilton HHonors - Hilton Mclean or DT Tyson's

Which hotel is better for a gold member? Which has a better fitness room and/or pool. The prices are about the same. Thanks

I haven't been to the McLean Tyson's in three years but it is very nice; however I was recently at the DT Falls Church (same hotel) and that one is a bit dingy;

I would go back to McLean before FC if the price is the same; unless someone has a more recent update of the McLean Hilton

I was at both this past fall to finish off the CNTU. Front Desk at DT was great - went out of their way to put me in a suite as we had our triplets with us.
Hilton Mclean was a nicer property but no upgrade. Pool and workout room were nicer at the Hilton.

I stay at Tyson Hilton quite a bit, and it is a nice place to stay -- clean rooms, consistent service, good location, nice fitness center, normally upgraded to 7th floor (as diamond), executive lounge has good selection of food for breakfast, etc.

I cannot compare to Doubletree since I've only been there for meetings (seen lobby, bar, etc.) but simply based on this observation I would/do choose the Hilton.

I stayed at DT Tysons this week. Because they couldnt upgrade me they comped a movie for me which I thought was nice touch. They also give you a whole tin of cookies!

Rooms are fine, Gym is small but functional and there's a pool

Just dont get spooked by all the men in raincoats and suits that have earplugs and wires running down their neck.On the last trip there must have been 20 of them in the lobby when I arrived!

I stayed at the McLean Hilton many years ago and it was quite nice.

Nothing to say about the DT even though I pass by it on a daily basis. One advantage for the DT is for people without cars who want to go into DC. I recall that the Hilton's shuttle service to the WFC metro was really poor. From the DT you are nearly within walking distance and there is a city bus that stops outside on the corner every half hour.


Now that I live in the area I am incredulous as to why the shuttle driver went onto the Beltway, especially on Friday at 5 pm.
