Hi,
I wanted to avoid this, but now I will write down my issue. No drama and no exagerations, just a recount of my experiences at A-Club that, as they went unsolved, have just prompted me to rebook several properties for 2011 and 2012. The only one I am leaving out is in order to use my vouchers that I accumulated so far.
Here goes the story, be a judge yourself:
End of October there was a show near Le Bourget, outside Paris and for that matter I choose the Mercure Roissy CDG in the Roissy hotel area just a couple of miles from the CDG airport as the homebase for me and my staff.
Booking was a mess, because of unforeseen consequences, I needed to readjust all the prepaid bookings, so that in the end I had to do an Excel sheet to communicate with the group reservation desk. She (I will not name her, even though she did a great job) was very patient and sorted everything out.
I booked using the name of each room occupant but did so under my Accorhotels.com profile with my A-Club card inserted every time. Furthermore, I double checked with the hotel to ensure that I would get points, to which they replied ok but only for my room and my expenses.
Everything proceed very well, actually the hotel itself was great, the restaurant was surprisingly good (not an easy feat in the Roissy area) and the service was very positive.
Upon checkout, I asked to include the name of the company along with its international VAT number, as my accounting department requested it that way.
After a couple of weeks I don't get any points, so I use the A-Club website and the provided form along with a scanned PDF.
In order to cut things short, they first send me a textblock reply saying that I did not send the proper documents (it was a 4 page PDF and they only looked at the first page apparently) and in their second and last reply they told me that any abuse of the card would prompt an audit of my account.
After the official procedure I contacted both Accor Concierge and the hotel itself (the direct number was on my email contacts) but to no avail.
I am not suing anybody, nor do I want to create any drama, I just wanted to say that as of today, given that nobody related to A-Club or Accor wanted or could accredit me points relating to a mere 40 Euro voucher, my yearly bookings at various properties will be moved to other hotel chains.
Economically it must be great to see a 10'000 Euro customer go because of 40 Euro voucher value, that amounts to 0.4% discount for their loyalty!
Thank you for reading and dear Dieu Ahn please don't bother contacting me in private or by replying to this thread as I waited patiently for over a month and am now absolutely not interested in any excuse/reply/offer you may suggest.
Best regards,
JohnDP
p.s. the official reason for not getting my points is that "companies are not allowed to join A-Club"
