Hilton HHonors - The Problem with HHonors these days
Its getting dated and boring.
HH Diamond for 5 years , SPG for PLT for 2, and the SPG program really shines.
Although I really appreciate the HHonors diamond desk, these days its manned by tier 1 reservation who have no clue as to whats going on. The really diamond desk , Stacey , Evonne, and the rest are no longer reachable by phone or email. Also I'm tired of having to jump through hoops to get an award stay with Hilton, this ofcourse after having 0 hassle with SPG. Yes I know the SPG awards are way more expensive, but its also alot more valuable and usable.
It would really help if HHonors beefed up their awards or added something interesting (like a QF 2:1 transfer http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif ) .
Still at the end of the day I'm qualified for HH Diamond next year. Still working on my SPG PLT status. I guess there's still a little bit of Loyalty left in me, that and a 7 figure HHonors balance http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
Cheers !

we just qualified at diamond too...do we get something in the mail? how do we finally get this treasured diamond desk phone number??
thanks
The diamond desk as it was a few years ago doesn't exist now.
These days you just call the regular HH Diamond # (on the back of your card). You then give your "special" request to one of the agents who enters it into the system.
The agent then transfer the request to a Diamond coordinator who handles it and gets back to you 3-5 Biz days...

That's not quite true. There are two semi-separate Diamond desks, one for awards (when there is no availability or to deal with special circumstances and such), and the other one for everything else - revenue reservations, account issues, etc. The only published number is for the latter one, but the former (Stacey, Evonne, etc.) can be reached direct as well (albeit not through a toll-free number, but a regular 972-area code one).

Which begs the question of how Diamonds (like me) are given access to the special 972 number. If I call the regular Diamond line, will they give it to me or will they think I'm a nut? I realize that people may be hesitant to post it here, but I'd sure like to know how I can get it. Thanks for any info.

Never underestimate the power of "search" feature (you'd have to go into Archive though)... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Thanks, Eugene. You are definitely the MVP of the Hilton forum!

When I called in the past I wrote down all the different direct lines I could get a hold of, and I call them instead of the 800 line when I really have a problem.
I agree that the personal service that I felt in the past is no longer present with the HHonors Diamond Desk!
I still feel that I get decent service when I need it, but have to put up with less-than-superior personnel for most calls. Maybe there are too many high-tier customers with the combining of Hilton with other brands?

I would always be loyal to HH.
For me, SPG is cool but HH rocks!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
