There is a train below the check-in level. You have to buy your tickets in the main lobby of the airport where people check-in. The ticket is pretty reasonable (less than 15 euros) roundtrip, although I don't remember exactly. You can then walk to the Scandic Copenhagen from the train station in about 5 minutes if you don't mind lugging across a few streets. The train ride is like 15 minutes and is quite comfortable with even a car geared for travellers with luggage. Understanding of English is pretty good at the airport and in most places I seemed to visit in Denmark and Sweden.

Actually the train-fare is only about 3 euros one-way. In comparision a taxi would set you back some 20 euros.
If you decide to take the train, get off at 'Vesterport' station (check that that the train stops) rather than 'Hovedbanen' (Central station). Scandic is only 3 minutes away by foot then (just head right and cross the traffic lights when you come up from the station). I suppose you can even see the hotel from the station, since the building is quite tall by Copenhagen standards.

You HAVE to get off at Hovedbanegården, none of the trains from the airport stop at Vesterport. The walk from Hovedbanegården is not long, but make sure you have a map just in case.
