Hello, been lurking for a while with my first post here.

Using ITA, I was able to find a run on 12/8 same day return:
CLT-DEN-PHX-SFO-ONT-SFO-CLE-CLT

It is over 5cpm ($350.40) and not the best run, but it coincides with a business trip I am taking to CLT that weekend. I also found similar itineraries over the weekend that I was looking at. However, when I called up United to try to book this, the agent quoted me a price over $2000 and said that several of the legs were M class, not L as they are listed on ITA. Can anyone help out with any information on why the information doesn't match, or if I need to provide some other info to book this.

Conversely, if anyone has any other runs from CLT or GSO the weekend of 12/8-12/13, I would appreciate it!

First, welcome to flyertalk.

Second, the bad news is your post belongs in the MR discussion area, not in MR deals, the moderator will be moving it soon I expect.

Third, the other bad news is that calling the airlines to get a deal is usually a waste of time. you really need to do a lot of seaching and trying other booking engines to find the segments you need. because of rising fuel costs, mileage runs have been running around 3 to 5 cents per mile....so you may not have a great MR there, but working it into a business trip is a real plus.

Finally, do make sure you read all the sticky's at the beginning, it is usually chucked full of hints on how to best find lower fares.

Good luck, most of us will help if we can, but most of the work will be yours.

Happy flying.:)

You may want to try hipmunk.com it accepts the ITA routing rules and can push you through to orbitz to book.\

BTW i cant find that fare anymore. everything is close to 6CPM
