We went thru...to get the Brazil Visa for a trip a couple of years ago. It is good until the end on 2013 (5 year). We are looking at a cruise that would include flying into or out of Rio and cruising on the Amazon for several days.

My passport expires in Feb, 2012. Visa 2013. Can I renew my passport and somehow keep my Visa (or still use it)?

Thanks

Yes, hold onto your old passport and show the Visa when traveling to and from Brasil.

Thank you newyorkgeorge

Sent my package ($110 check, form 82 with new color picture and my old passport) today. The passport will be renewed for 10 more years. They will send me a new passport and return the old one (with my hard fought Brazilian Visa in it...they were dealing with our strick rules following 9-11, so I was dealing with theirs.

As you stated, I then will use both old and new for Brazilian customs.

More likely for immigration than customs :)
