SkiAdcock Nov 11, 11, 8:37 am No, but let us know how it goes. Of course TSA will probably say the blender blades are weapons of mass destruction :p :D Cheers. annerj Nov 11, 11, 8:48 am LOL. I'll post back next week. I have a trip to dallas for a couple days, then houston for a couple before I come home. This is the one I ordered http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036WS2TA/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details *I have the same one at home and it gets used 2x per day during the week and has held up well. BobMV Nov 27, 11, 12:37 pm Freaks ;-) I'm pretty sure it would screw up my carry-on only policy, which would put me at acute missing luggage or spend 1 hour in front of conveyor belt syndrome...but if not let me know! annerj Nov 28, 11, 2:01 pm Freaks ;-) I am about the only frequent traveler, at least on my team, that checks their bag each and every week. I just have too much crap to carry on ;) Buster Nov 29, 11, 6:13 pm I don't travel with it, but I use an Aerolatte (http://www.amazon.com/Aerolatte-Go-Milk-Frother-Black/dp/B0001RT2C4/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1322615540&sr=1-1) at home to mix my protein powder with milk/juice and it works quite well. annerj Nov 29, 11, 9:26 pm I don't travel with it, but I use an Aerolatte (http://www.amazon.com/Aerolatte-Go-Milk-Frother-Black/dp/B0001RT2C4/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1322615540&sr=1-1) at home to mix my protein powder with milk/juice and it works quite well. That one looks pretty cool. The problem, for me, is I want a "shake" when doing my protein....something mentally about the crushed ice that makes it feel more like a treat to me. So - how did it go? Cheers. annerj Dec 7, 11, 2:02 pm So - how did it go? Cheers. I checked my bag. Since the last post I've checked it without issue: RKS-DEN-DFW DFW-HOU HOU-DEN-RKS SLC-LAS LAS-SLC RKS-DEN x2 DEN-RKS x2 SkiAdcock Dec 8, 11, 8:44 am I checked my bag. Since the last post I've checked it without issue: RKS-DEN-DFW DFW-HOU HOU-DEN-RKS SLC-LAS LAS-SLC RKS-DEN x2 DEN-RKS x2 Given it's in your checked bag (vs carry-on) I didn't expect you to have an issue with TSA - other than perhaps them opening the bag to steal it :p :D How much extra weight did it add, how was it to clean in the bathroom of hotel room, what type of smoothie ingredients did you pack and/or buy? Cheers. annerj Dec 8, 11, 10:29 am Given it's in your checked bag (vs carry-on) I didn't expect you to have an issue with TSA - other than perhaps them opening the bag to steal it :p :D How much extra weight did it add, how was it to clean in the bathroom of hotel room, what type of smoothie ingredients did you pack and/or buy? Cheers. I want to carry it on but I've got so much crap these days (see the thread about that) that I have to check. Its a small/light blender. Just enough to make one large shake so not much extra weight. When I'm home I do fruit smoothies (I freeze fruit when in season) but on the road I'm just using beachbody.com's shakeology in chocolate. I use milk and ice in it. Cleaning has been OK....I make it and pour it into a cup to take to work. So I'm cleaning the blender at the hotel and the cup at work. I would like to run it through the dishwasher a bit more often but that isn't really an option. l'etoile Dec 17, 11, 6:55 am I have traveled with a blender before without issue. I didn't use it for smoothies though, but for making margaritas on a sailboat. :) annerj Dec 18, 11, 3:22 pm I carried it on RKS-SLC-LAS this week without too much problem. Its a longer story than needed but they did have some questions about the protein powder I had in my bag (but only because it was my gun range bag and it set off the sensors). No blender, but I bring my protein powder and a shaker always + protein bars JDiver Feb 20, 12, 6:50 pm If questioned, merely say you are involved with promoting whirled peas. (Sorry!) I do take some phytonutrients powers with me (some places seem not to believe in vegetables - in Costa Rica, you may get chicken with rice with some beans, plantain and manioc - but a closed contained and some serious agitation (of the container, not me,) and it does a great job. Not so much for veggies and fruits, but fortunately some parts of the world handle that for me, with things like licuados being common in Latin American, and lassi in India (whcih also puts some Lactobacillus, BIfodobaterium, etc. into your gut as a good side benefit). No, but let us know how it goes. Of course TSA will probably say the blender blades are weapons of mass destruction :p :D Cheers. |
