I have never flown El Al before. What can expect in their business class cabin from Rome? Thanks in advance to anyone who takes a moment to let me know.

reclineable seats that are much better than regular economy seats but inferior to flat lie beds...
good food. mediocre IFE.
if the flight isn't full you'll get good service...

Occassionally they will fly a 777 into and out of Rome. If that's the case for your flight, you are in luck because the Business Class seats on the 777 are angled lie flat plus they will use the F seats as Business.

Thanks for these replies. Unfortunately, no 777; the flights will be on a 737.
Is check-in facilitated for business class at FCO? I assume El Al uses a contract lounge in Rome?

Check in in FCO is in a remote terminal. There is a dedicated business check in. You will be bussed to the main terminal.
LY uses a contract lounge - nothing to write home about..
For such a short flight the 737 will be fine. Much better than using AZ...

plus they will use the F seats as Business. In which case the OP woud have to pay to use them.

Maybe it's because I'm so used to F on the 737 on domestic airlines (US,) I happen to find LY's C on 737 a very solid product.

I had heard that they now have iPads for C pax on the 737, or that they're planning on it. Any other news about this?
