I will be in SGP from 11/24-11/29.
I read this on one of the threads here:

"Many stores along the shopping belt of Orchard Road and Scotts Road now offer late night shopping on the last Friday of every month with over 250 retailers staying open till midnight. "

Is this still the case?

If so, then I will stay at the Marriott on the night of the 25th, which is right around Orchard/Scotts.

Thanks

I think stores close at 10pm in Orchard Rd normally, I feel sorry for their employees who have to be on their feet all day and then till midnight and 11pm!!

In my opinion the Marriott is a good location for shopping on Orchard. Once I figured out how to stay underground and navigate to several places without all the escalators and stairs, I loved it.
It is also above the MRT which made getting around to other areas easy.

there's barely any late night shopping in Sg.
and on weekdays, most places empty by 930pm ish.

There's Mustafa, which is like Walmart/Best Buy (in terms of variety and affordability), that's 24hrs. It's in the little India.

Have to say, shopping there is not for the faint-hearted. but worth a stop for the experience.
