I just flew a transcon - PHX to JFK which grants me access to DL Sky Club. Will it also grant me access to Oasis Lounge in T4? If so, how would I get to T4? Is the lounge on the sterile side or the public side?

Thanks

It's landside.

Ordinarily, it shouldn't grant you access. However, its on the public side

Incorrect. Oasis Lounge is listed as an approved location for transcon premium cabin passengers, as well as for Sky Club members (assuming OP was up front or an SC member).

I don't think Oasis is an arrivals lounge, so you may not get access.

It is on the Public side and not worth the trip.

It is a small lounge but they do have nice food.
If you are at T4 and have time to kill, not bad but I would not travel there for it.

It does not work as an arrivals lounge. Also, even as a departures lounge I have tried multiple times to use with a first class transcon ticket and been turned away.

I've had no issues using it for connections in the domestic to international direction. I had several hours to kill so the journey there and back wasn't a big deal. Plus I was traveling in BE so I didn't mind the exercise prior to flight. :)

I would say it's about 10 minutes walk.

Access to T4 JFK Oasis lounge is ST E+ (GM PM DM KM) on international itinerary. I have seen many turned away with only SC membership. It is landside so you need to exit out of T3, head over to T4 and then (in most of my trips) back to T2 and TSA.

It has better snack (real food) and beverage selections.

This is God sent for me as I get access to it transiting JFK YYZ after TPAC trips.

Yes, you can probably get in but do you want to do that and then go back through security--sometimes very busy--to get to your flight?

When looking at the Check-In Desk for the Oasis Lounge, look to your left and down a little bit (towards the agents computer) and there used to be (at least as of 5 weeks ago) a sign that says (I think even in BOLD) SkyClub member are to be admitted with the need to be traveling that day (or something very similar to that).

The one nice thing about the Oasis is that it doesnt attract a lot of kids, families, and other non-essential personnel. Although it is on the small side, the food is great, has a self serve bar and you get great views of the Apron and runways around T4 and T 5

Apparently the rules for admittance are quite fluid. The Delta rep at the desk in T4 made a phone call and said I couldn't get in unless I was traveling in international business class. Undeterred I walked over and was admitted without delay. I'm traveling from JFK to SAN in X class. No international itinerary. I really like the hot and cold food options and self service bar.

I couldn't get in upon arrival yesterday from SAN, so I called the Diamond desk. Was told that even Sky Clubs won't admit passengers upon arrival, which is completely false. Hung up in disgust of the lack of knowledge of their own product. :td:

I wouldn't term the admittance rules as fluid but more like confused idiocy.

One time at the Oasis lounge after showing my SC Card, the lounge dragon stated, "Diner's Club only." Uh, yeah. I had another experience at a DL SC (JFK T3) where the lounge dragon denied me entry even with SC membership. She said I needed "full Sky Club membership" despite my "full membership" SC card being presented to her. After arguing with her for about a minute, she let me in as if she was bending the rules.

Never had a problem getting into Oasis with my SC membership card even when flying regional DL flights out of JFK. Was just there last week, I much prefer it to the SCs at JFK!

Totally agree, sometimes they require a boarding pass, sometimes they are fine with just giving them your flight number. I just pick one from the board and say Im on it. They are Swissport employees, most are very curt and unfriendly there. Even with Priority Pass they argue. From what I am told, if you have a SkyClub membership and are flying from that terminal or a Priority Pass (regardless if you are flying), you can access the lounge. That Priority Pass rule seems to be ignored by all lounge agents worldwide who still require some boarding pass. Oh well!

Nov 23, 11, 2:39 pm
Priority Pass members can use The Lounge which is on the other side of T4 as Oasis but also landside and they will allow use as an arrivals lounge. They have a nice continental breakfast and have a shower available (in fact a better shower than the strange Oasis Lounge shower). I don't think they have quite the food spread that Oasis does in the afternoon/evening, however. Similar complimentary and self-serve beer/wine/spirits are offered.

Haven't had any issue with SC issue. Just don't get caught scarfing up goodies and behind in time trying to get through security downstairs. Add to the fact they don't staff those security lanes with the brightest bulbs in the TSA empire.

Sad to say this is now behind security...no more using it when not flying:( Always a favorite of mine with good Indian food and plentiful drinks!

 I was here a few weeks ago.

Yes, there's hot food. But it's thrown in cheap chaffing dishes and labeled with a label maker from 1987. I wouldnt touch this food if you paid me

The worst coffee on the planet served in white styrofoam cups only

Very limited liquor selection

Poor wines

Depressed employees with stained shirts pushing carts down around

I'd take the worst Skyclub over this.

Of course it's not a 5 star eatery but I wouldn't describe it as bad as that either. IIRC there was a NYC health dept grade B sign out a few weeks ago.

Decent wraps, sandwiches, fruits, salads are offered most all day. Around 3pm they bring out Curry Chicken and some rice, it's okay. Kinda banquet style but still more selection than anything I've had in a few SC's. I understand they do a breakfast spread but haven't had the opportunity to try that yet.

Couple coffee choices brewing per cup - one happens to be a Starbucks branded maker. It was pretty good for me and a couple choices of cups. Sure, some are styrofoam but not like styro from the 50's. They're reasonably substantial. Sure, they didn't have Bailey's but I found something to spike my coffee.

Depressed employees? Everybody has a bad day. They've been okay to me the few times I've managed to GAME entry. I'll go out of my way for Oasis over any SC I've been in to date.

If you're getting in with PP as your much earlier post in this thread suggests, the rule is supposed to be that you must be flying (some airline) that day. You can't go to the airport and use land side lounges as a free happy hour, but YMMV. Some here from NYC have reported going to Oasis to celebrate their GE interviews.

Feels like this place has gone downhill. Between that and the showers not being cleaned regularly, I generally only stop when returning on a red eye for the cereal.

According to priority pass, boarding passes are not required although some lounges make up their own rule. I always just pick a flight and say checkin has not begun. I usually am traveling that day but usually later or just arrived. Never had a problem in the 30 or so times I've done it.

The staff there (swissport I think) are indeed depressed and negative almost constantly. Not rude, but definitely not happy to be there.

I like it much better now that it is airside. Never did try to use it when not flying. Was told that I needed to have a boarding pass when I went to drop the wife to the airport once.

Not sure if its good Indian food, but its hot food nevertheless. Definitely better than what the Skyclubs offer. I have zero complaints about the generous pours of the self serve bars. :)

TSA might let you through, but I would not plan on it. You could try this thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/american-aadvantage/1325734-admirals-club-flagship-lounge-meetup-meet-up-thread.html) and see if someone can guest you into AA's AC at T8 when you fly.

That's correct -- once the new Delta Sky Club/Deck in Terminal 4 opens on May 24 DSC members and BE pax will have access to that, rather than Oasis.

Thanks for letting us know about this change, but then who will use Oasis? KLM elite and premium cabin passengers (rather than using the new SC in T4)? Priority Pass access will continue, I would assume, right? I guess it will serve as a contract lounge for lots of carriers, including SQ business class passengers who aren't *Gold.

I guess this also means that there's no hope for any DL people getting access to the Virgin Clubroom?

I suspect that the VS Clubroom access will be limited to people flying VS metal...if we're lucky Delta GM/PM/DM will get access even if flying VS coach (as VS's own top elites currently do). And really, this is what we should be hoping for -- because if they let all Delta GM/PM/DM members use that lounge on any DL international flight, it will quickly become overrun, and the standards will have to be slashed dramatically; it is simply a far more expensive and elaborate value proposition than what DL offers. Best realistic outcome, from the perspective of appreciating what an awesome lounge it is, would be if the standards stay the same and its access is somewhat limited.

Will be good , I hope, for FB E+ members flying DL BE as we will have two choices still.....I hope.....

You concern is interesting. You do realize that none of those airlines fly out of T4, and AS doesn't even fly out of JFK? It was likely done so those pax on their codeshares on airlines that fly out of T4 would know that they could access the lounge. TBD is each airline's access post-May 23rd.

I know AF doesn't use T4 and should have their own lounge at JFK. As for the rest of those carriers, I never thought about their JFK operations.

I imagine AF is/was up there because of T1 to T4 arriving connections on DL in J.
