(cross post from the West forum for Arizona/Phoenix - trying to decide whether to do Florida or Arizona)
Has anyone ever been out for Spring Training? I'm looking to come out and spend a week in the area and try to catch a few games (and some NHL hockey as well) and just spend some time away from the cold in Toronto. Just looking for a bit of tips/hints on what to expect. Are there access to the complexes during non-game times where I could potentially watch (and take pictures) of the players during their workouts?

To help start things off....
The Leafs play @ the Panthers (Sunrise FL) on March 13th....and @ the Lightning (Tampa FL) March 15th....if you are interested....
A car rental would probably be very helpful for this trip (hockey and spring training)....
Orlando may be a good central location to see multiple MLB teams in various cities....
Are there any MLB teams/players that you want to see?
Here are some packages that MLB.com offers:

An Arizona trip would only provide the chance to concurrently see the Coyotes, unless you added a lengthy side trip to L.A. to see the Kings.
As a bonus, the Panthers are actually doing well so far this year :)

As a Red Sox fan, I would rather be in Florida. However, that being said, if you really want to see some baseball, I think the greater Phoenix area may have a larger number of teams within a short distance of each other.

Yes, I saw the Leafs schedule so that's probable as well. As mentioned by GottaGoFlying, I prefer the greater Phoenix area due to the close proximity they provide, where as Florida I'm looking at a couple of hours of driving from one location to another. Although Florida does provide the benefit of having some of the better poker games now that laws have changed a couple of years ago.
