I'm flying Sunday SFO to ORD on AA with a Z class ticket, the the following day I fly ORD to DEL again in F (Z class ticket). Are there any 24 hr lounges at ORD or comfortable places to stay in the airport? Hotel prices are really high near the airport so I was just thinking about hanging out in the terminal if there is a place. Thanks in advance

I've attempted to sleep on the floor at ORD during an all-night lightning storm, and that's given me a sort of aversion to ORD. Don't forget the 24/7 LOUD, BRAIN-DEAD STUPID announcements about security level orange and watching for about-to-explode luggage.

get a hotel nearby that has a shuttle service.

Since this query is more related to the ORD airport rather than AA, we'll shift this over to the Chicago forum. Thanks! :) /JY1024, AA forum co-moderator

+1. Another option is to fly the SFO-ORD red-eye, and try to sleep on the plane. :)

Cheers.

One could always try checking the "Sleeping in Airports" website for ORD, here (http://www.sleepinginairports.net/usa/chicago_ohare.htm#.Tra_DEMg_lY).

One possibility mentioned is

I have only one comment - O'Hare has a chapel on the second floor above the ticketing area. I slept on the floor under a pew in there one night. Only one person came in all night, and he did not bother me. It was truly a sanctuary for a weary traveler. If I ever travel through O'Hare alone again, I would sleep here for sure.

Call the ORD Hilton directly (not the 800#) and ask for best rate available. I've received amazingly low rates depending on capacity. It's connected via moving walkway to terminal so you never go outdoors. If you can't find an acceptable rate, start calling other ORD hotels directly and asking. These all run shuttles from the transpo. center at ORD. None are stupendous, but that's not what you are seeking.

Many Hotwire/Priceline ORD-area hotels $40-50, usually.

This is an award ticket (I hope just one ticket, because SFO-ORD-DEL should cost the same as ORD-DEL), so can be changed without fee. So another option is 6:10 AM flight out of SFO, then 3 hour connection at ORD. If you have to, take voluntary downgrade for SFO-ORD leg. You can get back to F if those seats are released at the last minute.
