I was looking @ the EasyEscapes promo details a few weeks ago, never noted a rate/cert requirement but noticed these

where did you find this. I just called Hilton and he knew nothing about this. I want to find out if a couple of upcoming trips would apply.

This deal is a coupon in the easy escapes book I got a few months ago. I booked an easy escapes rate (just happened to be the cheapest rate)and I got a coupon booklet. The rate was still out there at differant hotels a couple of weeks ago - 'easy escapes stay now save later' The coupon for free sundays is good from nov 1 - dec 31 I believe.

What exactly does this mean? I booked a room at a rate of $99 under this promotion for a Fri - Sun stay. Are Fri & Sat $99 and Sunday free for total of $198, or is each night $99 for a total of $297? (essentially making Friday and Saturday $148.50 if Sunday is free). If the later is the case, this is not a deal at all because the hotel I booked at also had a rate of $99 for Friday or Saturday night only.

Most easy escapes coupons are junk IMO.

Examples

For your "Free" night, check carefully the rates for your Fri and Sat nights. Usually those rates are much more than the average room rate you could get for all three nights on your own. So much for your "free" room.

The $100 food & bev coupon for 4 night stays at Hilton Resorts. I tried to redeem at HHV last year. Was told my rate ($200 per night in Ali'i) did not qualify for the $100 off. I asked what was the qualifying rate, $340 was the answer! You do the math. $560 more for my 4 day stay only to gain a $100 coupon for food that is overpriced and mediocre anyways!!!!!

Easy Escapes for the most part are crap coupons. Some have said that they have redeemed some of the air coupons. Every airfare I bothered getting a quote from for Easy Escapes, I was able to beat searching airfares on my own. Again, so much for my $50 off.

Agreed.

The coupons for the Sunday are superfluous now that you can get that "rate" w/o a coupon, and the air coupons, I wonder, are not such a bargain since the airlines have cut the comissions to $0. So the $50 in savings is probably cut to nil after the travel agent charges you for the privilege of booking the flight.

For this very reason I always check the regular rate along with the Home for the Holidays rate to compare, lest HHonors be taking away the Free Sunday with the other hand. Just like SPG50s & the old AHotel Certs. included with some award tickets.
One place where the deal is legit is at the Hilton Quebec starting Oct. 18: The C$125 HftH rate <= the Best Available rate, making the Sunday truly free! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
