I know that Delta does not partner with Aloha or Hawaiian, but I was wondering if there was a way to use Delta miles thru United for interisland flights since they are a partner.

We have Delta miles or Hilton points and would like to use them if possible for interisland flights and car rentals. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would think that you can use Delta miles. You can use Delta miles for United awards, and a United award is 5000 miles for a roundtrip.

Just call Delta and check the restrictions, if any.

Why is this on the Hilton board?

I don't think you can use Delta miles for United awards. You can use Delta miles for Delta awards on United flights (but not Aloha). I think this was posted here because you could transfer Delta miles to Hilton and then get the interisland award from Hilton. This would work but would be expensive. You would need to transfer 20k Delta to the 40k Hilton points required for an interisland award. That's four times the 5k miles that AA and NW charge for the same thing.

You can only use Delta miles to get free Domestic fights on United on United metal.

You can not use Delta miles for any United International flights, or for any UA marketed code-share, alliance, or partner flights (such as Aloha).

Sign up for the First USA United VISA, and get 15,000 United points for a $60 fee. That will buy 3 return trips from HNL to Kona on Aloha. (if you're going to Waikaloa....I just did this for a December trip.)
