Hilton HHonors - Hilton Garden Inn Napa
We're planning a trip to SF and Napa and was wondering if anyone had comments on the HGI in Napa.
Is it nice? convenient to the sights? any HH benefits? It looks like its relatively new, according to the website.
We've never been to the area, so location and proximity would be most important. Thanks for your help.

Never stayed at the HGI, so it must be newer. However, the location is right next to the Napa Marriott, where we stayed last time in the area.
It is on the primary highway that you need to be on (hwy 29) in order to see all the wineries, so I believe that it is a very nice location from which to get around.
The downside as I recall is there is nothing closeby to walk to -- so you must drive to get anywhere (and not much open in the evenings around it). However, there was a decent Italian restaurant just up the road across from it that was open late.
Happy tasting!
When we were there a few weeks ago it was not opened yet.

We were at the Napa Embassy Suites for the 4th fo July weekend, though it was expensive (though not so bad since part of our stay was on an award), it was a very nice hotel. One of the better embassies we stayed at.
For that region, if you are going winery hopping pick the ones you really want to see (highly recomended, favorite wines, etc) and make sure to do those first. if you start stopping at each one, the days will be gone before you know it.
