Do you think one paid fare might have two free companions using FF1B? I'd get two coupons, at 40K each, but pay one fare.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about:
The FF1B award is a free companion fare in the lower 48 and Alaska (no Hawaii) for only 40,000 points. It is only offered by UA, US, HP, AS, and Midwest Express (YZ).
IMO, this is one of the best awards anywhere for maximum value to points and nice flexibility.
