Southwest Rapid Rewards - Southwest Website STILL messed up!

:td:

I tried to book a series of companion pass reservations tonite. Was able to book the first two, then....the dreaded "OOPS!" screen on any subsequent CP booking I tried.

Here is the magic code: SW101076-hroi0Tj5SpuikbHvSlCPCw)

I really don't want to book on the phone because I lose control of on-line access.

Ugh.

BTW, the only CPs that booked were in December. All the 2012 ones failed, even though I have a CP through 12/31/12.

Anybody at WN able to translate that mystery error code?

So the third reservation was for a trip in 2012? have you re-declared the companion for 2012? if not, it will error out. If you would like me to check, send me a PM. Thanks!

I did have to call customer service and then through two supervisors to get a CP ticket for April 2012. She stated to me there was an issue because the system doesnt recognize those who have not reached the CP level this year for next year even though folks were grandfathered in for 2012.

Luckily I fly so much I "re-qualified" this year for 2012 even though I was already at CP level through 2012 and the subsequent CP tickets went without a hitch.

Issue will correct itself in January.

Thank you for your prompt reply!

I am having difficulty locating the screen on southwest.com for re-declaring my companion. Can you assist me?

I do see a way of changing a companion, but this must be done in writing and it takes 21 days.

"Member may change his/her designated Companion and request issuance of a new Companion Pass up to three (3) times within the validity period of the Pass. Requests must be made in writing and accompanied by the current Companion Pass card, which will be cancelled, to: Southwest Airlines, Rapid Rewards, P.O. Box 36657, Dallas, TX 75235. In addition, please include the new Companion's name, address, phone number, social security number, and date of birth. Allow 21 business days for processing."

dlaue, I would hazard a guess that HBFlyer's explanation is probably the correct one.

Under RR1, if you requalified, did you have to redeclare a companion?

Not that I recall.

I though, perhaps, RR2.0 included this "feature" and that I was just not smart enough to find it. ;)

I received CP status in March, so I am good till 12/2012. I booked 2 companion flights yesterday for 2012. I received no error and did not "re-declare". Did anyone else re-declare their companion for 2012?

I earned my 2012 CP via the rolling 100 point calculation in 2011 for 2012. I had the same problem...couldn't book anything for 2012. I didn't want CS to book them because I knew I might be making changes and I wanted to do them myself online.

But, found the error. M companinion didn't roll over from 2011 to 2012. All CS did was add my companion to my 2012 CP and I was able to easiliy book my 2012 ressies

I suspect this it is the same issue for Dlaue's acct, but would have to review to make sure. Basically we re-declare the companion (which extends the end date on the existing declared companion) and it fixes it. But someone from Customer Relations (CR) needs to do it. Please note that this will only work if your existing companion is staying the same for 2012. If not, then someone from CR could make the change once you are ready to do so.

As far as RR 1.0, yes you did have to re-declare, but you had to wait until the beginning of the new companion year before you could do so. Many CP holders may recall having to reserve a seat using an award to hold a seat until their new companion year started, then they could declare and confirm the reservation for the CP.

Thanks for the answers. But... These manual steps required by customers requiring them to call in vs. do this on-line is just a continuing frustration of the bugs and lack features on the WN website. If someone has already qualified for the next calendar year, why not make it easy on the customer and the WN staff by providing that functionality within the customer's RR account?

Same thing happened to me. Got a notice that I earned CP and needed to go to the website and designate the person/name. I tried for a very long time, couldn't find where to enter the info, and finally gave up. Called SW and the first person couldn't help after several minutes looking. Went to a supervisor and she couldn't find it either. She finally did it manually. Bottom line: THE NEW WEBSITE IS NOT USER FRIENDLY!!!!

It's an improvement. At least the time looks right. Better than my next flight info.
