Some hotels will belong to Choice as Ascend Collection hotels in Sweden and Canada soon :

These hotels don't look bad and the redemption rate are not too high...

More properties under Choice brands is indeed very much welcome by me and glad to see the integration of the Nordic properties is moving ahead. The Nordic Light property in Stockholm however is priced in points in a way which is less appealing to me than the alternatives in the same area using points.
[Various Nordic (brand name) properties around Sweden seem to have more of a party scene in the lobby/bar area than the other Choice hotels in Sweden.]

As I read it, it's 20K points a night. Yes, that's more than 16K points a night, but it still seems a good value to me, and not that drastically different than 16k points a night. (It's not like running into 75K points a night in Australia!)

It's 20k points a night indeed, but that's 10k points more a night than my most common Choice redemption in Stockholm at times where the 10k point property's regular paid rates for my rooms exceeded the rates of this option at 20k points.
I'd rather have double the nights at a near-equivalent property-level in a given area in Stockholm than half the nights at a near-equivalent property in the same given area in Stockholm. That's why I noted what I did, as there's better value to be had very near by. Double the price may come with half the fun.
[... and ending up in the Skarholmen section of Stockholm at night for 6k (six thousand) points isn't something I'd consider for comparison purposes.]

Oh, well, that's the first I recall of hearing of Choice Scandinavia properties in major cities being available for less than 16K/night.
It's been much talked about here that most Choice Scandinavia properties are availble (to Choice Privileges members) for "only" 16K / night, which led me to infer that the remainder were more. :)
(And all my own Choice Scandinavia redemption research had been in Norway with a touch of Finland, so I didn't realize on my own that there was something for even less point in Stockholm.)
Thanks for the revalation! :)

Nothing of it; you're welcome, as I'm sure you have done some of your own follow-on research to see that there are some extra-good deals to be ordinarily had.
[Somethings are not made so explicit here always, and I've certainly got a role in that. :o ]
I flutter around the main cities and primary tourist destinations in all the countries that were once ruled by a Swede or Dane, so I do focus on how I (don't) get hit financially when playing host (on the cheap). :D
