This fare sale makes zero sense at all.
I can appreciate the need for a "BANG"; but, the same could have been done with a $31 each way ++ sale, to capitalize on the Halloween aspect. It could have also expanded to included MANY more routes where such a promotion would have yielded excellent exposure and coverage.
Sounds like someone drank the Spirit (NK) juice.

Website is so slow and overloaded...impossible to book online.I'm experiencing the same thing this morning. I've tried twice this morning with no success. Went to UA to book my trip. Came here to see if anyone else had posted what was killing the F9 website today. And, sure enough, now I know.
So, I wonder, do these outages really cost F9 much, or am I in the minority and just have bad timing. Once again, F9 loses as my UA fare was $450.

I agree. Odd choice of routes. Why these three?
There's not much capacity on MKE-OMA, for instance, so it makes one wonder. Are the loads so bad that they have to discount this much to fill seats? Or, are there only a few seats left and they're trying to top them off?

Is this a good way to draw attention and potential new business?
They are certainly attracting customers for new business, but possibly at the risk of turning other serious customers away, who are not able to get through, become frustrated, and turn elsewhere.
With only a small quantity of the $8 seats available, for a limited number of routes/flights, they are obviously keeping tight control on losses incurred from the artificially low fares.

Once again they are forcing people to book through an online travel agency and losing money before the flight has pushed back from the gate.
What would you expect from Frontier?
Its certainly is laughable.
