Asiana Club - Asiana check-in at BKK Suvarnabhumi: Counter hours?

Does anybody know what the check-in counter hours are for Asiana at BKK? Does THAI Airways staff the Asiana counters by any chance?

I have a trip in two weeks and I'll be flying into BKK Suvarnabhumi from a domestic Thailand location in the early afternoon. I'll be connecting to Asiana 214, which departs 9 hours later. Ultimate destination is San Francisco. Because of the long connect time, I'd like to go into Bangkok for a while.

From "non-International" domestic Thailand airports, they don't allow you to check your baggage through to your international connecting flight at BKK. So that means I'll arrive at BKK and need to pick up my checked baggage and do something with it for the 9 hours until my Asiana flight leaves. I expect I'll arrive too early to check in at the Asiana counter. If by chance THAI handles Asiana's counter services, maybe I can check the bags with THAI?

Otherwise, I guess I can always leave them at Baggage storage/Left Luggage.

Advice anyone?

My memory's a bit hazy about the check-in there, being the last time I used OZ on that route has been a couple years ago. However, I did arrive early at the airport and the counter wasn't opened, and I asked at the TG counter if I could check-in for the flight being I think there some OZ or TG flights that are codeshares with each other. I figured 99% I knew the answer before asking, and sure enough, it's not possible. You must wait for the OZ counters to open to check in. I don't recall how long in advance they opened, but I think it was probably something like 3 hours in advance.

I think your best bet is what you've already figured out. Leave your bags at the Left Luggage facility, and then go into town to spend your time.

although right now might NOT be the best time to visit downtown bangkok with flood and all.... hopefully we can pay enough attention to their plight, just as we have done for japan a couple of months ago.

Another option (that I've never tried myself, so I cannot give any guarantees), is to take the train to Bangkok with the baggage anc check in at the Makkasan station. I believe counters there are open well in advance.

The Makkasan check-in is only for TG and PG. You cannot check in for OZ there. If you could, it would be very useful in this case, as I think you can check in something like 12 hours in advance.

The obvious solution to that problem is to fly via Hong Kong instead, where all passengers can check in at the downtown train stations! :D
