Argentina - Advice re: name correction on Aerolineas ticket

It was probably my own fault but one passenger name on our Aerolineas tickets is misspelled. It is for three flights within Argentina. I have called reservations and emailed 3 different addresses but have yet to get any response. The error is small - two letters in the last name are incorrect. Obviously, it won't be an exact match with passenger's passport.
So... how picky are they? Is it as bad as the US? Any advice on getting this fixed?

AR was the last airline that I flew (albeit over a decade ago) that didn't even check any sort of ID at any point during the check in and boarding process.

Where did you purchase your ticket? Over the AR web site?
I bought my tickets at Expedia for my forthcoming trip to Argentina. When I called AR reservation to arrange pre-assignment of seats, they were very helpful. Why don't you give their reservation a call? Otherwise, call the place where you bought the ticket.

Yes, I bought it through the AR web site. I have talked to reservations. The agent gave me an email address to contact. No reply from this one or any others I tried through the website. I've given it a couple of weeks thinking that it might not be a priority for someone. I guess I'll just try calling back again.

I wouldn't worry about it to be honest.
As far as I know you're allowed a couple of spelling mistakes on a ticket before it becomes a problem. I'm pretty sure AR won't even notice it.

They'll be busy dealing with irate passengers because of the delay.
