I was looking back in time and wondered if and when F9 served ELP. I did find an article from 2003 when F9 quit using ELP as a RON for maintenance.

Was this the only reason F9 flew to ELP or did they have decent loads? I would love to fly from ELP instead of ABQ and save driving 3 hours but United is the only non-stop and WN are all one stops. Both UA and WN have a pretty good premium on the route. North of $300 for weekend trips vs $120 from ABQ.

Any chance this route returns or was the RON maintenance the primary reason for flying to ELP?

I dont know the dates, but for a long time F9 served ELP as a tag from ABQ. Then from DEN nonstop on Lynx. I never flew the nonstop but the ABQ-ELP runs were far from full everytime I flew. I think F9 cut ELP before UA started service from DEN, so I don't have high hopes for F9 returning, more likely is WN giving it a try.

Doesn't surprise me. WN does it as a tag to ABQ. I doubt few people want to head north to DEN before then going East or West. Having PHX and HOU/Dallas/Texas on either side is a pretty big pull.
