Argentina - Travel Advice - best way between B.A. to Rosario

I am making my first trip to Argentina soon.

It is a business trip and I have 4 nights in B.A.

I plan to fly into and out of AEP on my trip and I plan to stay near AEP. (possibly)

It is all in B.A. except that I need to be in Rosario on one day for a meeting from 11am-3pm. (on a Friday)

I am looking for advice on the best way to travel to Rosario.

I think my main options are

a) to hire a car and drive back and forth in a day.
b) Fly / get the bus in a day trip
c) Fly / get the bus & Stay overnight in Rosario

I am a little concerned about the traffic conditions in B.A. - I have driving experience in Europe and the US but...

I am also wondering about the reliability of the internal flights.

I would prefer to make it there and back in a day if possible.

I am not so bothered about travelling by bus - if it is comfortable and reliable enough. I think the bus is 4 hours or so.

Any local advice / experience appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I would just go by coach. It's a very comfortable way to travel and there are regular services to Rosario. Travel time is about four hours. There is a decent Holiday Inn in Rosario if you have to stay the night.

I wouldn't hire a car....too much hassle and expense.

I agree. And I think it would be advisable to arrive the evening before.

What bus lines / classes of service do you recommend?

Depending on what sort of corporate travel budget you have, a private car may also come into play. Taking the bus means having to go to the terminals in Retiro (Buenos Aires) and then in Rosario... with all that entails.

Are you fluent in Spanish...?

I agree that renting a car and driving yourself is the worst idea.

If you have the budget to rent a car in Buenos Aires, then a private car will mean an expense that is in the same ballpark.... so I again suggest you do not rule out this option.

Thanks to all for the quick responses.

Having had a little look at the various bus websites - it seems that that could be an attractive option. It seems to be comfortable and punctual at least.

I am actually loathe to check in and out of hotels more than I need to. Even if it means a bus at 6am to arrive by 10am - It would be better.

Spanish will not be an issue - I will be with a colleague who speaks it fluently.

Are there any reccommendations for ways to find a car with driver (websites ?) ?, as this could actually be an option - given that there are two of us as well.

January 1st 2011 aerolineas argentinas starts a service from Ezeiza to Rosario, free if you buy the international ticket to EZE. As of today you have to use AEP. Other option would be connecting in Lima on LAN airlines they flight to ROS Fisherton airport ( will be suspended on November 16) Check this websites for flights too:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Flights they have flxible dates as well
Gol lineas aereas flight to Rosario from Brasilia I believe.
