With AJ trashing QF, now is the time for DJ to stroll on in and secure a large share of the Aussie market for the foreseeable future.

It would be incredibly sad to see Qantas go under, under these circumstances..however agreed the VA now has the opportunity to showcase why they are a brilliant airline.
It certainly will keep them busy over the next few weeks, so perhaps the next lot of Velocity changes will be delayed a bit now..

good move to invite Chairmans and QF Plats (who failed to comp) into the lounges during this fracas...

Nah I think to myself would qantas do this for VA customers. Somehow I doubt it.

They deserve to succeed Virgin Australia.The QF snobs as I tend to think of them as live in a plastic bubble with free everything on their flights to the point they have forgotten how the rest of us who by choice fly low cost exist.

But a lot of these previous pro-QF "snobs" are now going over to VA in droves. My Dad, for the first time, is flying VA to MEL next week. The corporate agent accidentally pre-purchased luggage. When his status-matched number was put in the system, without asking the agent went "Since you are a Platinum FF, we will refund you the $12"

First experience so far = much better service than QF.

From all the press one might think that there is no choice in air travel in Australia. I think that it shows that all the pollies, public servants and press only ever really fly the red roo.
