I write too rarely something nice, but I have to say that I am very pleased with Roadway Inn San Antonio Downtown so far. First I made a big mistake and booked a restricted rate for wrong day (tomorrow), but hotel was kind enough to change booking for right day (today) without any fuss -- and I was still able to keep really low rate of 38 USD + tax.
Secondly room is nice and well kept (when compared to Super8 from where I checked out this morning). Thirdly this property is quite close to downtown and Riverwalk and, as a nice and totally unexpected surpise, there are some free sample sized packages in the room (Crest whitening tooth paste and Axe hair styling gel) in addition to small soap and shampoo which, I assume, are regular Roadway Inn toiletries and probably nothing spectacular.
Yes, internet is quite slow and there is some noise from neigbouring highway, but still much more positive than I expected for much lower rate than I ever dreamed. Canīt say anything about breakfast, as I am going to check out at 5 am.
I also must say that Choice service center was absolutely perfect and, during my phone call, made sure that my Dividend Miles number (for 250 DM miles as US Airways Grand Slam promo is main reason why I chose to stay here) is entered wherever it needs to be entered.
