seems like those gates will continue to have their own security for a while. thinking about the architecture with the food court in the middle (and outside security), it would be a real PIA to roll them into the rest of the gates.

Kinda funny, b6 finally had consolidated security at terminal c

Indeed....very good to hear. That will be freeing up the gate space due to the congestion. Must be reduced the overcrowded at security checkpoint.

Hope they will be completion new consolidated security checkpoint in entire terminal C. No more go through at security again. They already have being search by another city. I'm pretty confident if they have enough gate space available. DL will takeover whole Terminal A. That will be no longer needed to share the gate for another carriers.

While I am no longer based in BOS, we have defintely come a long way from where we used to be. The centralized security checkpoint is absolutely beautiful with massive sunlight allowed in, the shops on the way to the gates will be a nice touch. You will eventually also see gate remodels a la gate C25. I'm impressed at the progress the terminal has made and look forward to the future in BOS.

I admit, the AirTran gates will be challenging and it will be interesting to see which flights we feed out of there. It would be good if we put the international departures out of there I think and those flights that dont bring in many connecting pax. I'm glad that's not my project :)

My first thought was that international departures there might work well, then I thought of having to show up earlier for international flights and waiting in an area with little food/beverage options and how unenjoyable that would be (I believe there's a pushcart or two by those gates). In any event, having a security line just dedicated to the international departures might be nice as it likely would be shorter than the main Terminal C security line.

The JB architects and Massport have been very creative with terminal C. Maybe the old President's Club can be remodeled into a post security mini food court of some type. I have not been over there in a while so I don't know the layout...

An additional issue is that the international flights are primarily in the morning, after that, what then? Will be interesting and may be inconvenient for first few months as it was when we did not have a consolidated checkpoint.

Maybe security could be moved closer to the food options in the main hallway (i.e. closer to Jerry Remy's).That would free up more space around gates C40-C42.
Even better would be to remodel the entire C-terminal, moving ALL security into the main hall. You would loose most food options in the main hall (but who needs those anyway), while it frees more space for food options in the gate-wings (http://www.massport.com/logan-airport/inside-airport/Pages/logan-interactive-maps.html#/terminal/C/zone/Departures)

I think it's very good to hear. It's much easy way to stay in the sterile area without leaving from security. Those passengers that mean they don't have go back through at security again. Some of those passengers who connectivity flight through at entire terminal C. It's will save the time. It will reduced the overcrowded at main checkpoint.

A friend of mine sent me a pic of our progress with the AirTran gates, moving along quite nicely.. Another friend of mine advised mostly 190s will likely start over there due to isses with getting the jetbridges up to standard (320s much higher)

Yesterday was the first use of the old AirTran gates and they had listed the flights that were using those gates up in the crew lounge. It was a random grouping of flights but 99% of them were 190 flights to EWR, IAD, RDU and 1 320 flight to someplace. Looks like the flights that will be over at those gates are the ones that most heavily are O/D customers and those that don't see a lot of connecting customers.
