Oceania (Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific) - 25 minute connection time in Wellington?

Hi, Finally making my first post after lurking for years! We are flying from Blenheim to Auckland and all the nonstops are sold out or triple the price. So we are looking at Air New Zealand connection via Wellington. Being used to ORD I am leery of a 25- 30 minute connection time. I know the terminal is not that big but what about baggage transfer? And I don't want to wait 3 hours for the next flight. Any advice from Kiwi travellers?

I've only transfered once at WLG but I had no problem and I was on a 35 minute transfer with checked baggage. Air NZ is pretty good for on time performance so you shouldn't have any problems in that respect.

Should be easy - but....you will be leaving BHE on a 1900D which are prone to delays. If you leave in the morning your odds are better, but WLG rarely has fog in the mornings so if you were unlucky to strike this (which is more likely in the morning) you would be out of luck too. Best to have travel insurance handy, just incase

Wellington airport is small and the minimum connection time (for a single ticket) between domestic flights is 20 minutes. You'll be fine, the airport is small and bags will make the onward flight.

If the flight from Blenheim is delayed more than a few minutes then Air NZ is likely to shift your flight to Auckland (these go every 30-60 minutes so won't be a long wait).
